Charlamagne tha God Says a White Woman Biden Pick For VP Would Cause ‘Voter Depression’

On Sunday, on MSNBC’s “AM Joy” (the most misnamed cable news show next to Brian Stelter’s “Reliable Sources” on CNN), radio host Charlamagne tha God said if the former vice president and Democratic presumptive nominee Joe Biden selects Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) as his running mate, it would create “voter depression” in the black community.

So, Charlamagne is essentially saying to Biden – nay – the Democratic Party, if you don’t support a black female for a running mate, blacks won’t vote for you.  On the other side of that token he is saying a white female just isn’t good enough.  Wait, what?

I’m sorry, but that’s just as racist as Biden saying if you don’t support him over Donald Trump then “you ain’t black.”  Charlamagne is using the black vote in the same manner that Biden did.  He’s saying the issue of a black female running mate OWNS the black vote.

So, how come no one in the mainstream media will characterize it as such?  Is it not racist to say that black people won’t support a white female pick over a black female?  Am I wrong about that?  I may disagree with everything Amy Klobuchar stands for politically, but she is an elected US Senator over what is still a generic black female character.

It’s remarkable that over the last 3+ years black Americans have seen Donald Trump and the Trump administration do so much for the black community, and they’re stuck on whether or not Biden will pick a black female as a running mate.

For years black Americans have wanted prison reform, after Biden wrote the Clinton crime bill that put thousands of young black men in prison for long prison sentences over non-violent crimes.  President Trump pretty much reversed that by signing the First Step Act that gives non-violent prisoners a second chance at life with early release.  This had an enormously positive effect on the black community.  Yet, Charlamagne and ilk are worried about Biden picking a white woman for his VP choice.

Thanks to Trump, black unemployment has gone down to the lowest level ever recorded.  Obama had nothing to do with that, it was Trump and the GOP Congress, but  Charlamagne thaaaaaaaaa God is worried Biden won’t pick a black female as his running mate.

Trump not only gave more money to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) than any other president, but he added it to the budget, making sure that money to help HBCU’s will be there from now on.

My Irish grandmother would have stood before Charlamagne, arms folded, eyebrows close-nit together, her lips tightened, and said while shaking her head to each iteration, “Mmm… mmm… mmm.”

Democrats are not the party of the most competent, they’re the party of firsts.  What else can we expect after white liberals have taught them that firsts mean progress?  The first black president Barack Obama was an unmitigated disaster for the black community and the country, and now the first black female vice president will symbolize progress, just because.

There are a million black women who would make a great vice presidential pick, but the way Democrats go about choosing their candidates is based purely on political identity politics, and that almost always winds up with the person not being the best choice for the job.

Democrats see leadership in government positions as “what’s in it for me,” and never how they can best move the country forward.  For Democrats, it’s always “do for the special interest groups that support you, and they’ll allow you to have the power.”  Meanwhile, nothing ever gets done, because all the special interest groups keep fighting over what should get done.

If they could only get over their “firsts” infliction and Trump Derangement Syndrome, they would see that prior to the virus pandemic, the black community was doing great thanks to our president, Donald J Trump.

Partial transcript as follows:

REID: And what you just said, that is a lot of what I’m hearing of — even African-Americans, say no, no, no, don’t say that, don’t say those things, because it might hurt the chances of beating Donald Trump. This question gets asked to me a lot and so I’ll ask the question to you, what if Joe Biden says, no, I’m picking Amy Klobuchar, she’s my running mate, then what do you do?

CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: Well, on top of possible Russian interference and voter suppression, Dems have to worry about voter depression, and that’s people staying home on election day because they just aren’t enthused by the candidate. You can’t act like this is the most important election ever but run a campaign from your basement and, you know, not make some real policy commitments to the Black community and not listen to some of the demands that the Black community are making. I think people are sitting around hoping that Trump loses instead of going out there and actually beating him. He has to do something that energizes his campaign, that brings some actual enthusiasm to his campaign. So those 4.4 million Obama voters who stayed home in 2016, more than a third of them Black, you know, don’t do that this year. You got to make them come out.
