Top Biden Aide Admits Botched Response to Swine Flu: ‘Just Luck’ it Wasn’t ‘Mass Casualty Event’

On Wednesday Joe Biden made the claim that the Obama/Biden administration left a blueprint on how to deal with a pandemic. But unlike President Trump who took actions before there was a single death, over 1,000 people died before Obama/Biden acted at all. Sixty million people had the swine flu.

Now, a former Biden aide, Ron Klain, who was Biden’s chief of staff disputed Biden’s claim by saying that the Obama/Biden administration did everything wrong. Obama appointed Klain as his “Ebola Czar”.

Klain said:

I was in the White House in 2009 and 2010, and I was working for Vice President Biden. I wasn’t involved directly in the H1N1 response, but I lived through it as a White House staffer, and what I would say about it is: A bunch of really great, really talented people were working on it and we did every possible thing wrong.

“Sixty million Americans got H1N1 in that period of time, and it’s just purely a fortuity that this isn’t one of the great mass casualty events in American history.”

“It had nothing to do with us doing anything right. It just had to do with luck.”

If Klain is right, what blueprint did Obama/Biden leave?

The Blaze pointed out last week that investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson exposed the fact in 2009 that the Obama/Biden administration had shut down testing for the virus .

Was that to freeze the number of infections to 60,000,000? Attkisson said that the administration used the excuse that more testing was unnecessary because it had already confirmed there was an epidemic.

Townhall noted that Obama/Biden depleted the emergency stockpile but failed to restock it, hamstringing the Trump administration until more PPE could be manufactured. It’s hard to distribute something you don’t have.

But, as usual the lamestream press concentrated on President Trump and the fact he did not send what he did not have. And besides, the states are supposed tio have their own stockpiles. It is not the federal government’s job to supply all the needs of the states.
